BIKE

Continetal Giro Tubular weighs 300g compared to a racing continetal Olympic that weighs 180g a weight saving of 120g per revolution.
90 revolutions per minute for a 6 hour Iron man bike ride would be a weight saving of 3,888,000 grams (3.88 tonnes)

RUN
If you switched from training to racing shoes for a marathon although you compromised the shock absorption you could save 60g per shoe
60g saving per shoe
180 strides per minute for a 3:30 marathon
180 x 1 minute x (3:30 marathon) = 210 minutes
= A weight saving of
60grams x 180 = 10,800 grams a minute
210 minutes (3:30 marathon) total weight saving of an incredible 2,268,000 grams or 2.268 TONNES!

If you lost just 4lbs (1,816grams) in weight for the marathon.

if you weight 72 kilo your legs would have to lift 2,721,600 kilos.
However if you lost just 2 kilo and now weighed just 70 kilo you would only have to lift 2,646,000 a saving of 75,600 kilos or 1,080 times your weight.
