Swim Time Prediction Tables

Predict your swim time at distances from 50 meters upto 1500 meters from nothing more than the time it takes you to swim 25 meters.

The chart allows for the increase in distance and provides a realistic 'window' within which your swim time should be.

Simply find the time it takes you to complete 25 meters (front crawl only, race pace) and then read across to find the time it would take to complete the target distance. The chart compensates for the fact that your speed (pace) will slow as the distance increases so your 25 meter time should be at race pace for 25 meters.

Bare in mind that no two individuals are the same and your swim performance may excel at either sprint or endurance distance but probably not both.

If you are close to the predicted minimum in all the distances then you have speed and endurance.

If you are close to the predicted maximum in all distances then you have endurance but lack speed.

If you are close to the predicted minimum for shorter distances and closer to maximum for longer distances you have speed but lack endurance.
