Great British Swimmr & London 2012 Olympic hopeful Lizzie Simmons has blacked out holding her breath by only breathing once twice three times or not at all during swimming 25m/50m in the pool.
An Olympic athlete can swim legally up to 15m under water after a dive or tumble turns so that is why they practice holding their breath.
It is known as Hypoxic training.
