Ironman Hawaii Training Tip –
Temperatures range form 80 to 95 degrees with high humidity.
The sea swim has currents so practise and observe how the currents affect you and also large swells. The best time for seeing you are swimming in a straight line is at the top of a wave or swell.

The conditions hot humid & strong winds makes this course a tough event.
Lanzarote is an ideal place to prepare for European triathletes with hot windy conditions and roads lined by black lava.
Conditions are different each year. Large sea swells to calm conditions little wind can make the whole bike course feel like a hot oven!
Avoid over heating by using easy gears in the windy sections rather than strength which can generate internal heat while keeping a high cadence initially you may feel you lose places but soon you will be passing others while they fade from being too hot.
The marathon is torturous some years the tarmac has almost melted from the scoring heat. Few races have cloud cover to make it cooler and expect to be at your lowest mentally as you pass the Natural energy lab.
Cover your shoulders during the marathon and large brimmed hat.
Use the highest factor sun block you can that is water proof. Spend time in T2 putting on some extra sun protection for the ironman marathon.
