FEMALE SWEAT RATE
WOMEN tend to sweat less than men so benefit from using water on your skin. Many women will also start sweating later at higher core and skin temperatures.
BODY surface area tends to be smaller than men so having a larger ratio of area is much better at cooling. In the luteal period of the menstrual cycle expect to have a one-degree higher core temperature for up to 7 days. This can be an advantage as you will start to sweat earlier, which has been shown to cool you much quicker, rather than a delayed reaction to getting hot.
KEEPING COOL.
If you anticipate getting hot either damp your skin before exercise or if in a competition use sponges at feed station or pouring water over the head.
The fitter you are the less salt you lose from your sweat.
