Free Events in London
Whether you are in London for a day trip, weekend on business or seeing London for the Olympics and want to save money there is a lot you can still do for FREE listed below.
Having worked in London for over 30 years I only list things I can recommend.
Changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace.
See web site for timetable of events.
http://www.changing-the-guard.com/
After watching changing of the guards you can walk through colourful St James Park then back into the Mall under Admiralty Arch to Trafalgar’s square and Nelson column turn right into Whitehall the Prime Minister lives at 10 Downing Street on the right hand side then the Cenotaph (monument in honor of the soldiers who lost their lives in the war) is in the middle of the road.
Continue along Whitehall towards Westminster and Big Ben.
You can walk across Westminster Bridge & the River Thames, stop half way and look up and down stream. To your left and see the London Eye County Hall the many bridges and St Paul’s cathedral dome in the distance.
You will see many naval boats moored in the river.
This walk can take up to 2 hours if you stop frequently and take many pictures and admire the view.
